Editorial Board

Joanna Bednarek (1982) – philosopher, translator and writer. Author of the book Politics Beyond Form. Ontological determinations of poststructuralist political philosophy. She translated (among others) Rosi Braidotti, Donna Haraway and Karen Barad. Permanent collaborator of ‘Praktyka Teoretyczna’; collaborator of „Krytyka Polityczna” in the years 2006-2009. Her fields of interest are: poststructuralism, feminism, autonomist marxism and literature.

   

Piotr Juskowiak (1984) – MA in Cultural Studies, translator, PhD candidate in the Unit of City Culture at Institute of Cultural Studies of Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. His doctoral thesis focuses on the concept of community in a post-industrial city. His areas of interest are urban studies; political philosophy; radical geography; economy of culture; urban sociology, culture and art considered on the background of contemporary continental thought (Marxism, post-structuralism, theories of biopolitics, post-operaismo). Author of articles published in e.g. “Kultura Współczesna”, “Przegląd Kulturoznawczy”, “Przegląd Humanistyczny” and “Zeszyty Artystyczne”. Currently, he is in the process of editing a book about urban neoliberalization: Miasta w czasie kryzysu. Ekonomia, polityka, kultura (Cities in the Time of Crisis: Economy, Politics, Culture; working title).

Mateusz Karolak (1986) – PhD Candidate at the Institute of Sociology UWr. He graduated from Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań, where he studied Philosophy, Anthropology and Ethnology. He also spent a year as an Erasmus exchange student at the Institute of European Ethnology at Humboldt University of Berlin. His current research interests include political economy, reproduction of inequalities, precarisation of work and its consequences, as well as return migrations, with the particular focus on the decision making process and the subjective experiences of return migrants. Since March 2013 he has been working as an Early Stage Researcher on the interdisciplinary project “ChangingEmployment”.

Wiktor Marzec (1985) – sociologist and philosopher. His principal research interests lie in the field of social theory and political philosophy. Fields of studies so far have been sociology of sexuality, cultural aspects of urban modernity and the social history of city of Lodz. At present he tries to combine theory of culture, discourse theory and philosophy of the political as a possible additional descriptive language of social phenomena in an extensive research of political mobilization processes of peripheral capitalism during 1905 Revolution in Lodz, Poland. Currently, he is preparing a doctoral dissertation at Central European University in Budapest.

Kamil Piskała (1988) – historian, PhD student at the University of Lodz. His research interests are focused on the history of interwar Poland, Polish Left in the late 19th and 20th centuries and Marxist tradition in East-Central Europe. In spare time he reads books on political philosophy, social theory and historical method. At present he prepares a biography of Mieczysław Niedziałkowski and conducts research on Revolution in Russian Poland 1905-1907.

 

Michał Pospiszyl (1987) – MA in Cultural Studies and Philosophy, PhD candidate at University of Warsaw. His doctoral thesis topic focuses on the concept of time in contemporary Marxism (Benjamin, Lukács, Bloch, Agamben). His areas of interest are: Marxism, philosophy of culture, theological motifs of political thought. Author of articles published in e.g. „Kwartalnik Filozoficzny”, „Znak”, „Praktyka Teoretyczna”.

   

Krystian Szadkowski (1986) – Editor-in-chief of “Theoretical Practice”. PhD candidate at Institute of Philosophy AMU, Research Fellow at Education International Research Institute in Brussels, Belgium, Marie Curie Fellow, member of the Center for Public Policy AMU, and member of Edu-factory transnational research collective. Translator. His research interest focuses mainly on issues of higher education systems and development of cognitive capitalism, as well as their mutual relationships. Co-editor of three following volumes: Edu-factory. Samoorganizacja i opór w fabrykach wiedzy, (Edu-factory. Self-organization and Resistance in Knowledge Factories) (2011), Wieczna radość. Ekonomia polityczna społecznej kreatywności, (A Joy Forever. Political Economy of Social Creativity) (2011), W sprawie Agambena. Konteksty krytyki (In the matter of Agamben. Contextes of the Critique) (2010).

Maciej Szlinder (1986) – philosopher, sociologist, doctoral student at the Institute of Philosophy at the Adam Mickiewicz University. His doctoral thesis focuses on the concept of universal basic income. Research fields: Marxist thought, social philosophy, political economy, economic sociology and social policy. Published in i.a. “Theoretical Practice”, “Nowa Krytyka”, “Filo-sofija”, “Przegląd Ekonomiczny” (“Economic Review”). Translator. Likes fantasy, mountains, football, board games and walking in unknown directions. Has 3 cats. Pescaterian. Comes from Gdynia.

 

Anna Wojczyńska (1984) – PhD candidate at the Faculty of Philology, University of Wroclaw, Master in Polish Philology, Bachelor of Philosophy. Her research interests are focused on the history of twentieth-century literary studies, contemporary philosophy of science, social studies of science and technology. Currently, she prepares her dissertation on common literary knowledge.

   

Rafał Zawisza (1988) – graduated from College of Inter-Faculty Individual Studies in the Humanities at the University of Warsaw. He is currently preparing his doctoral dissertation on natality at the Faculty of “Artes Liberales” at the University of Warsaw. Main interests: Hannah Arendt, Hans Blumenberg, postsecular thought, philosophical debates about modernity, history of gnosis.
